I got the chance to see Corinne Bailey Rae on Thursday night at Joe's Pub as she performed songs from her new album, "The Sea," out next month. I was surprised by how strong and soaring her voice was _ her mellow singing on the album masks her powerful voice. The new material is hot!

My take on Chris Brown's new CD ...

Chris Brown, "Graffiti" (Jive)
If you listen to Chris Brown's "Graffiti" in a vacuum, you will hear a solid, entertaining album, with a good balance of pillow talk, club grooves, heartfelt ballads and swagger anthems. The problem is, it's not great enough to make you forget about the elephant in the room.

Since everyone else is posting the Rihanna interview ...

I'm gonna just focus on Trey Songz' new video, "I Invented Sex." I love his voice, loved his first few singles, and would like to say I love this, but I think he's trying a bit too hard to be R. Kelly Jr. Besides, I can't help but think about his recent Honey magazine interview every time I hear his voice, and belive me, that was not a flattering portrait (check the link below).

The Yankees are WORLD CHAMPS!!!

Now, I know many of you are wondering _ what do the Yankees have to do with celeb clutter? Well, A-Rod is dating Kate Hudson, Derek Jeter is dating some C-list actress and shoot, most of them are more famous than your average celeb anyway. Plus, there was major star power rooting for the Yanks, from Jay-Z and Alicia Keys to Mary J ... who did a great job with the national anthem in the decisive Game 6 victory. She set the winning tone ... check it out!!
